New Classes for Dancers!
New classes begin this month, including Beginning Jazz & Ballet for 4th-6th grade, Open Ballet for experienced dancers, and many new sessions of existing classes like Intro to Ballet for Adults, Dance for Parkinson's, and Parent/Toddler Movement!

Dance for Parkinson's
Offered for people with Parkinson's Disease and their caregivers, this dance class is designed to engage participants' minds and bodies while addressing PD-specific concerns of balance, flexibility, coordination and gait. Three six-week sessions beginning January 3, February 21 & April 10. $10 per class or $55 for session. (Caregivers attend for free.)

Dance Conditioning for Adults
For dancers and non-dancers, this class incorporates practices from yoga and Pilates as well as strength/postural balancing and basic toning and stress/tension relief. Join professional dancer Corrie Befort in a workout incorporating dance techniques she uses every day to support an active dance career!

Descriptions:
Dance Combo for Ages 3 through 6
For our youngest dancers we combine creative movement, pre-ballet, tap and tumbling in classes that develop strength, agility and musicality. A great beginning to a life-long love of movement and dance!
Parent-Toddler
Even little ones can dance! Explore movement, rhythm, and spatial concepts through music, games, and play in this ten-week series offered three times per year. Cost is $90 per series; no enrollment after the third week of class. For walking to age three, accompanied by a caregiver. 2011-2012 start dates: September 15/16, January 5/6, and March 22/23.
Ballet – Pre-Ballet, Beginning Youth Ballet, and Beginning Adult Ballet
Ballet forms the foundation for all other dance styles. Build strength, grace, and classical technique in classes specifically designed for beginners in your age range.
Ballet – Levels I - VI
For serious dancers and those who might be, we offer a progressive program for all ages emphasizing classical technique as well as contemporary choreography. Placement for all levels is by staff approval only, with advancement based on physical and intellectual grasp of the material.
Pointe/Variations
For Ballet Levels IV and up, with instructor approval. Students must also take a Level class in order to participate.
Open Ballet – Levels III - VI & Adult
Open ballet classes present additional learning opportunities for experienced dancers. By placement only; adult classes are Tuesdays/Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:00am; teen classes meet on Saturday.
Dance Conditioning – Levels IV - VI & Adult
Build core strength and flexibility with techniques drawn from yoga, Pilates, toning, postural balancing, stress-release and more. Adult classes (six-week sessions) are held Tuesdays, 9:30 - 10:30am; teen classes are Tuesdays, 4:45 - 5:45pm.
Hip-Hop
Catch some serious funk with fast-moving hip-hop. From old school to new school, you’ll learn basic moves and cutting-edge innovations, so get out there and dance!
Modern & Jazz
Looking for something less traditional than ballet? Come experience Modern dance and Jazz! Explore the body’s motion and expression through balance, rhythm, flexibility and musicality. Classes are held for 1st grade through adult.
Tap
Buffalo step, shim-sham, tack annie and waltz clog—it could only be tap! Let your feet fly through the year with classes for first graders through adults.
Dance for Parkinson's
Offered for people with Parkinson's Disease and their caregivers, this dance class is designed to engage participants' minds and bodies through many styles of dance while addressing PD-specific concerns of balance, flexibility, coordination and gait. Taught by a professional dancer trained in the Dance for PD method, six-week sessions are held several times throughout the year, Tuesdays, 1:00 - 2:30pm.
